Initial Brief
A central London private members club was looking to maximise the use of their external terrace area at the rear of the property. The terrace area was open to the elements which is excellent in the summer but in the colder and wetter months, the terrace became unusable.
The client was looking to erect a temporary structure to cover the terrace area which could be erected in the Autumn and dismantled in the Spring, to provide an all season ͞Winter Garden͟ for their customers.

After erecting a steel supporting structure over the terrace area, SGP install laminated glazing in a bespoke aluminium rafter and cap system to provide a water proof transparent infill, maximising the view of the London skies while protecting the customers from the elements.
SGP managed to carry out the installation despite having no direct access to the terrace necessitating us to move all materials, men and machines through the club in a discreet way to allow the client to maintain their full 5* service to their customers.
The laminated glass used was shaped to suit the triangular shape of each side of the steel structure and was installed in such a way that the whole system could be demounted in a couple of days once the warmer weather returns.
